We make homestyle foods with all-natural, high quality ingredients and flash freeze each dish in ready-to-eat portions.  With no need for harmful preservatives, additives, artificial colors or flavors, we are committed to becoming one of most innovative, better-for-you prepared food brands in your freezer.

Our menu has something for every kind of foodie, from hearty main dishes, to breads and breakfast pastries, to our signature line of soups, stew and pasta sauces. We all want the taste and nutritional value of a meal made from scratch, but many of us are too busy, overwhelmed and exhausted to do it ourselves. From busy parents trying to feed the kids a healthy meal on the go, to college students newly living on their own, to seniors who have scaled back their kitchens, anyone can make our food. And you do not have to compromise on flavor or quality for the sake of convenience.

 

Heat and Eat

Our foods are precooked and par-baked, so they only need a few minutes in the oven, microwave, instant pot or air fryer to be ready to enjoy. By flash freezing our foods, we cut out the need for lengthy thawing times. Jane Foodie aims to offer a refreshing departure from the onslaught of over-complicated meal kits: Mix and match our foods to create a meal that tastes like home cooking in minutes.  Maybe you’re already making a protein from scratch, but need a few sides to go along with it?  Cut down your prep time by adding our Italian Herbed Rice or Maple Roasted Rainbow Carrots to your meal. 

 

The Art of Flash Freezing

After freshly par-baking or precooking our foods, they immediately go into the flash freezer where the temperature rapidly drops to -40° F.  Flash freezing stops ice crystals from forming, which cause other foods to degrade in the freezer over time. 

Not all frozen foods are created equal, and Jane Foodie is on the cutting edge. According to a medical study in 2019, flash-freezing ensures that foods retain their nutrients much better than if they were frozen regularly. Research has shown that some flash-frozen foods retain even more nutrient-dense qualities than if they were enjoyed fresh, because the integrity of the vitamins and minerals are preserved at their absolute peak. Flash freezing ensures that Jane Foodie tastes shockingly fresh, locking in all the flavors, textures and juiciness of home cooking.

 

Fighting Food Waste

Jane Foodie is dedicated to ensuring that convenience does not come at a cost to the planet. The reality is that 120 billion pounds and nearly 40% of the United States food supply is wasted every year, so our pre-portioned, reclosable packages help customers keep food waste out of our landfills (which accounts for 58% of landfill emitted methane). All of our packaging is recyclable and/or biodegradable, and shipping freshness is ensured by the innovative use of wool insulators, rather than single-use Styrofoam.

 

Meet Jane

Jane Carroll is the founder and president of Jane Foodie. Hailing from the Bronx, Jane began her career as a single mother with a fledgling flower business in her basement, which took off quickly and led her to open an event planning studio in Irvington, NY. In 2002, her innovative “boxed in blooms” caught the eye of Oprah Winfrey, and her designs were featured twice on “Oprah’s Favorite Things List,” with Jane appearing on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2005.

Jane quickly gained national recognition, appearing in People, InStyle, and on Barbara Walters and The View.  Styling arrangements for Halle Berry, Sir Elton John and many more, Jane cemented her reputation as a florist to the stars, and expanded her professional profile into interior design. 

It was at this professional high that Jane’s story converged with a historic low: The 2008 financial crash decimated the events industry, shuttering her booming business. Only a few months later, she narrowly survived a devastating house fire, and suffered a sudden heart-attack at the young age of 41.

Always one to turn hardship into an opportunity, Jane saw a path to creating a business that allowed her to slow the pace and focus on her health.  She scaled back to a quaint coffeehouse location, Jane’s on Main, and transformed it into a hub for all of her creative talents: Floral design classes, interior design services, upscale event planning, and the foundation of her next chapter: food and baked goods.

In 2015, Jane introduced Jane Bakes, a line of 100% all-natural cookies in eco-friendly packaging, sold at specialty grocers and Whole Foods throughout the East Coast.  She then opened Jane Cafe in Yonkers, and began providing craft services to Lionsgate Studios. 

It was creating such large batches of her home-style, Bronx-inspired recipes that led Jane to her next lightbulb moment: flash freezing. Using this cutting edge technology and again focusing on sustainable packaging, Jane has dedicated her new company, Jane Foodie, to providing flash-frozen dishes that are as nourishing as they are quick to prepare (just heat and eat!). In the company’s first year, her Guinness Beef Stew won the 2024 Summer Fancy Food Show’s Outstanding New Product of the Year Award.

When Jane is not busy being “Head Foodie,” she is Meemaw to her 3 grandchildren and Mom to an awesome Son and Daughter-in-Law. She continues to cultivate her recipes and love of entertaining, interior design, architecture, site planning and landscaping. For JC².
